What We Did...
For our awareness event, we arranged a donation drive for the local Peninsula SPCA. We set up a table in the Trible Plaza on April 6th. At our table, we had collection boxes, as well as a jar for any money donations. Additionally, we sold homemade baked puppy treats made from peanut butter, honey, and corn flakes. We held a raffle as well for anyone who donated or bought a puppy treat, and our winner received a $10 Panera gift card. Advertisements for our event were put up around campus (fliers, handouts, and posters), and in social media (campus announcements, PLP newsletters, Facebook, and Twitter)
How It Went...Our event went moderately well. It was a sunny day, but was rather cold and not many people were out in the Trible Plaza. There were about six dogs that came by our event and enjoyed our puppy treats. We collected a few donations, such as paper towels and cloth towels, and raised money for the SPCA. The winner of our raffle, freshman Madison Furgurson, came with her two labs and made generous donations.

What Could Have Been Improved...While our event was still considered a small success for us, there are a few things that could have made it better. If it had been nicer outside, more people would have been likely to visit our table. Additionally, Regattas was closed for brunch with eliminated a lot of foot traffic by our table. We also think if we had the opportunity to partner with a larger organization, we could have made a bigger impact.
